Obituary of Leona M. Bushey

Leona M. Bushey, 100, a former resident of Ft. Edward, died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the home of her daughter, in Victory Mills, NY. Born February 28, 1911 in Malta, NY she was the daughter of the late Harry and Edna Weaver Stockwell. Mrs. Bushey was a former member of the Hudson Falls/Ft. Edward Seniors Club and the Hudson Falls Methodist Church. She had been attending the Schuylerville United Methodist Church for the past several years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Bushey in 1980; brothers, Nelson Forbes and Everett Stockwell; and sister Louise Chase. Survivors include her son, Edward Bushey Sr. (Audrey Brockway) of Ft. Edward; daughter, Nora “Connie” (Robert) Brown of Victory Mills; 5 grandsons, Edward Bushey Jr. (Alice), Michael Bushey Sr. (Sandy), Thomas Bushey (Chris), Scott Bushey, and William Brown (Debra), 1 granddaughter, Linda Bushey; 17 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 4pm Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville with Pastor James Knapp, officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4pm prior to the service. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Argyle, at the convenience of the family. Memorials can be made in her memory to The Fort Hudson Nursing Home, Fort Edward, NY.
