Obituary of Lesley C. Liddell

Lesley Carol Liddell, 90, of Easton, NY passed away Saturday, March, 24, 2012, at Albany Medical Center. Born February 11, 1922, in Glens Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Agnes (Smith) Washburn. Lesley graduated from South Glens Falls High School and SUNY Cobleskill with a degree in Institutional Management and was a member of Lambda Sigma Zeta. She was employed at General Electric Co. in Ft. Edward, NY prior to marrying Herbert W. Liddell on June 6, 1943. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Republican Women’s Club, Farm Bureau, Grange Eastern Star and Home Bureau. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed the companionship of her cats; George, Mittens and Casey, and also knitting and reading the bible. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her step-mother, Marjorie (Miller) Washburn and her husband, Herbert W. Liddell. Survivors include her children; Joann Liddell and companion, Bob Machin of Washington, VT; Peter Liddell and his wife, Suzy of Vero Beach, FL; Jill Allen and her husband, Mike, of Buskirk, NY; Eddy Liddell and his wife, Paula, of Easton, NY; a sister, Josephine Sumner of Robbinsville, NC; a brother, John Washburn and his wife, Joyce, of Ft. Edward, NY; a step-sister, Marjorie Plott, of Greensboro, NC; step-brothers Richard Dyer of South Glens Falls, NY, James Dyer of Glens Falls, NY, David Dyer and his wife, Caryl, of Myakka City, FL; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, several nieces, nephews and their families. At Lesley’s request there will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Elmwood Cemetery in Schaghticoke, NY.
