Obituary of John William Brown

John William “Jackie” Brown, 38, a resident of King Rd., passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at Saratoga Hospital after a brief illness. Born November 24, 1973 in Saratoga Springs, he was a 1993 graduate of Schuylerville Central High School. He was recently employed at Wings Over Saratoga. Jackie was a kind and gentle soul. He was a friend to many and would always lend a helping hand to those in need. Jackie enjoyed participating in local theatre groups. He also was an avid collector of Japanese Anime and comic books, attending conventions throughout the Northeast. You may have seen him at one of the local Karaoke bars sipping on a coke and writing/drawing in his journal. Jackie had a huge family and extended family. He was predeceased by his biological father Frank Winslow Jr., his adopted father Michael Brown, grandparents Amelia and Abner Brown, as well as two other grandfathers, William Engelbert and Frank Winslow Sr. Survivors include his mother Ann Engelbert Beagle and stepfather Terry Beagle of Gloversville; one sister Teresa Brown (Dave) of Porter Corners; four stepsisters, Joni Beagle of Ballston Spa, Melinda Kinney (Tim) of Moseley, VA, Danielle Wright (Rick) of Broadalbin, and Kristin Warner (John) of Johnstown; grandmother Hilda Engelbert of Granville; Aunt Kathy and Uncle Glen Ellis of Glasgow, KY; cousins, Tabitha Ellis and Bobby Joe Ellis of Glasgow, KY, Sabrina Ellis and Brandon (Patricia) Ellis of Owensboro, KY;Uncle William and Aunt Nancy Engelbert of Northport, Unlce John Engelbert of Granville; as well as other Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11am Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Maplewood Cemetery in Saratoga Springs, NY. Friends may call from 5-7pm Wednesday at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, with a service to follow at 7pm with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Memorials can be made in his memory to a local SPCA.
