Obituary of Jesse Levi Cale

On Thursday May 17, 2012, Jesse Levi Cale, 18, affectionately known as Bub and Big Jess, held God’s hand and did not turn back. Jesse was enjoying an evening at a campfire when he lost this life in a tragic drowning accident. Born September 9, 1993 in Glens Falls, NY, he is survived by family members Father, Sam Cale, Greenwich, Mother, Stacey Cale, her close companion John Kozersky, Victory Mills, sister, Tessa Cale, paternal grandparents, Steven and CJ Lofgren, Gansevoort, Rick and Edna Cale, Spencer, WV, paternal great grandmother Roberta Lea Cale Smith, Spencer, WV, maternal grandparents, Shirley Ramsey, Schuylerville and Roger and Dale Dayton, Corinth. Aunts and Uncles: Hank and Christina White, Jacqualyn Thatcher, Judy and Keith Champagne, Cindy and Bob Worth, Shelly Ramsey, Tamara Dayton, Lydia Dayton Conner, Katie and Jerry Malcolm and Amanda Dayton, and all the cousins and extended family. Also best friends Allen Darrah and Dash, the family dog, along with many other friends. Jesse was in the graduating class of 2012 at Schuylerville Central School. He dearly loved going to school to be with his friends and his teachers. Jesse recently went to Florida for the senior trip, enjoying himself tremendously. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing, hiking, camping, golfing, as well as playing board games and bowling. Jesse enjoyed the company of his Mom, Dad and sister, rarely venturing beyond the family circle. Whatever challenges life presented to Jesse, he always prevailed and had laughter and happiness within, which contagiously spread to everyone around him. Always upbeat, always a smile on the face and always helping others whether in need or not. Having many times suffered adversities, Jesse forgave everyone without malice. He saw life with a child’s eyes and the beauty and goodness in the world. He loved all God’s creatures and would stop to save a worm in peril. The entire family of Jesse Cale wish to extend deep appreciation to every person who assisted in the search for our Jesse. The NYS Police Officers, State Forestry Agents and Fire Departments, all the Government Agencies that contacted various missing persons bureaus and wed sites, for the diligent constant searches for following every possible lead and scenario that might assist in discovering his whereabouts, for being at all times available and in contact with a family member, relaying all information and new plans to assist with the return of our Jesse. Every suggestion or request to those agencies by the family was respectively received, reviewed, discussed and acted upon. The Search and Rescue Teams, Divers, the search dogs and handlers from various areas for their heroic search efforts in the most difficult terrain covered with thick underbrush, swamps and rubble. We want to extend our appreciation to the Red Cross and to the Chaplains who were present to comfort and pray with and for us. The public, neighbors, friends, and especially his teachers who joined and embraced our Jesse as their own missing child. Their steadfast daily selfless dedication to the search efforts will be forever appreciated and never forgotten. Every news media, newspaper, radio and television station for the compassionate coverage and assistance with our search. Much appreciation to all who provided food and drinks to the searchers and the family. Many thanks to Whipple City Pizza, Angelina’s Pizzeria, Stewarts, Cumberland Farms, local auxiliaries, neighbors and friends who supplied food and drinks that kept volunteer searchers and family nourished. We wish to thank all who kept prayer vigil and prayer chains along with email and text message chains. Taking into consideration Jesse’s great love of animals, we ask that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the animal charity of your personal choosing.
