Obituary of John H. Adams

John H. Adams, 74, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the home of his daughter Judy Woodcock after a brief illness. Born September 12, 1937 in Quaker Springs, NY he was the son of the late John and Veronica Barton Adams. He attended a one room school house in Quaker Springs. John served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He was an Aircraft Jet Engine Mechanic. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in Green Island, NY after 20 years. After his retirement, he built houses with his sons. John was also a member of the VFW Post #1938 in Valley Falls, NY. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Catherine Adams, Veronica Poirier, and Charlotte Seney. Survivors include his five children, Judy (Ralph) Woodcock and their children Jason Woodcock and Jill (Paul) Cameron and his great granddaughter Lilly Cameron; John Adams IV and his children Jessica Johnson, Jonathon, Hope and John V, and great grandchildren LeAnna, Jacob, and Ajahnae; Jeffrey (Heidi) Adams and their children Amanda and Meghan; Jackie Adams (Rodney Humiston) and their son Rodney Jr.; Janet Chapman (Patrick MacWhinnie) and her daughters Heather (Jose) Garcia and Beth Chapman; his four sisters, AnnMarie (Rick) Priestly, Norma (Earl) Harris, Agnes “Tootie” (Michael) Pruitt, and Barbara (Bruce) Zellar. All are invited to a graveside service with full military honors at 1:30pm Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. Rev. Martin Fisher will be officiating. There are no calling hours. The family would like to thank the staff of Saratoga Hospice for all their help and excellent care that our Dad received and a special thank you to his nurse Kelly, she was very caring.
