Obituary of LeRoy J. Ash

LeRoy J. Ash, 70, formerly of Greenwich, passed away June 22, 2012, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on July 24, 1941 in Shoreham, VT, he was the son of the late Wallace J. Ash and Ida May (Blake) Ash. LeRoy married Glenda L. Ackley, May 4, 1963 and settled in the Hudson Falls area for several years. LeRoy was employed at the Fort Miller Company as a vault truck driver and Walkers Farm as a grain truck driver. LeRoy enjoyed being a truck driver, watching NASCAR and westerns. LeRoy loved being with his family. LeRoy was predeceased by his brothers; Pete, Wally, William, Larry, and a twin brother Roy Ash; His sister Genieve Durkee; along with his granddaughter Kimberly Clark, grandson Shane Clark and his parents, and a special friend (dog) Rocky. Survivors include his wife Glenda Ash of Greenwich, 2 sons LeRoy Ash Jr. of Fort Ann and Terry Ash (Bobbi-Jo) of Rutland; 1 daughter, Tammy Clark (Kip Sweet) of Glens Falls; 1 brother, John Ash of Gansevoort; 2 sisters, Marion Julius of South Glens Falls and Carol Stevenson of Fort Ann; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. LeRoy was cared for by a special nephew and niece Scott and Dawn Ash. A Graveside service will be held at 1:30pm, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in Notre Dame Cemetery, Schuylerville.
