Obituary of David R. Meeghan

David Raymond Meeghan, 68, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center. Born June 17, 1944 in Stamford, NY he was the son of the late Raymond and Lucile Worden Meeghan. David was a graduate of Jefferson Central School in Jefferson, NY. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at General Electric in Schenectady, the Schenectady Sewage Treatment Plant, and was a construction electrician for various area contractors. He loved hunting, fishing, and his pets. He was a member of the VFW, Elks, and American Legion, all in Schenectady. Survivors include his sisters, Lavonne (Edwin) Bain of Greenwich, NY and Patricia (Robert) Verne of Chapel Hill, NC; his niece, Andrea (Edward) Jakes of Tuscon, AZ and her children Kyle and Alyssa; and nephews, Kerry (Janice) Verne of Durham, NC and his children, Jack and Luke, and Colin (April) Verne of Cary NC and his children Alyssa and Andrew; and many other cousins. A committal service will be held at a later date at the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn Bros. Inc.
