Obituary of Jack A. McCann

Jack A. McCann, 79, died at his home in Greenwich, Saturday, July 28, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born January 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Corcoran) McCann Jack worked at the H+V Paper Mill as a mechanic, later retiring after working 43 years. He was a member of the Greenwich Fire Department, Greenwich Elks and Sylvia Hook & Ladder. Jack enjoyed working at the Washington County Fair and playing bingo at the Cossayuna Fire Department with his wife. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jack was also a crossing guard in Greenwich for the Greenwich Police Department. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Rose (Nolan) McCann, a brother Edward McCann and his sisters Mary Hall and Jane Perkins. Survivors include a daughter Kathy French of Greenwich; grandchildren, Shawn (Jeanine) French, Kristina Boyce, and Philip Boyce Jr.; 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Church, Greenwich, with Rev. Martin Fisher officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 5-7pm Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. Memorials in his name can be made to Washington County Hospice, 415 Lower Main St. Hudson Falls, NY 12839. The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Austin Tsai, Washington County Hospice, Dr. Phillips and Dr. Duff for their outstanding care and compassion given to Jack.
