Obituary of Lynette L. Given

Lynette Leigh Given passed away Sunday July 29, 2012 at her home in Greenwich, NY. Lynette was raised in Burlington, VT and graduated from Burlington High School. She received her certificate in Dental Hygiene from the University of Vermont and later her master’s degree in Addiction Counseling from Goddard College. She developed Grateful House Treatment Center in Chicago, and maintained a private practice in Elmhurst, IL. She developed and taught alcoholic counseling at Triton College until her retirement in 1986. Lynette was a member of the Eastern Star and the order of Amaranth. She is survived by her husband James Given, her daughter Leanne Tampier of Wheaton, IL, her son Scott Given of Plattsburgh, NY, granddaughters Juliette and Ava Given, Hanna Tampier and Jennifer Slater, grandson Eric Slater and great grandchildren Felicity and Olivia Slater. There will be a reception at the family home, 42 North Greenwich Road, at 3pm, Sunday August 5, 2012.
