Obituary of Kathy A. Boyce

Kathy A. “Ernie” Boyce, 56, a resident of County Route 113, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at her home after a 9 year courageous battle with cancer. Born July 7, 1956 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Faye Therrien Anderson Jr. Kathy had been an Antique Dealer for many years. She was the owner of Turning Point Antiques, and had also managed Schuyler Antiques for Rich Furlani. She was co-owner of Boyce Wine and Liquor and had served as a night manager for Sulli’s Market in Schuylerville. Kathy lived an extraordinary life and had many interests and friends. She had many accomplishments and was successful at most everything she tried to do including winning awards for Santa’s and Mountain Men that she designed and built by hand. In recent years she bought herself a 2000 SS SLP Camero and a Harley Davidson Heritage Springer, her pride and joy, that she called her ”Emotional Rescue”. She enjoyed many trips, long and short, with her husband and friends, the crew from Victory Mills on their Harley’s. With all her accomplishments, she was proudest of her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, James Boyce, Jr. of Greenwich; her son, Aaron (Rachel) Boyce of Smithville; daughter, Constance (Bill) Sicker of Hadley; 2 brothers, Billy and Bucky Anderson; 3 sisters, Cindy Hathaway, Tammy and Bridget Anderson; 5 grandchildren, Sid, Max and Harley Sicker, and Lily and Aaron Boyce; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville with Pastor Jason Proctor officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 PM Monday. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Schuylerville. The family suggests memorials in her name be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
