Obituary of Glenda Ackley Ash

Glenda L. Ackley Ash, formerly of Greenwich, passed away August 25, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born November 15, 1942 in Lake George, NY she was the daughter of the late Genieve Ackley. Glenda married Leroy J. Ash Sr. on May 4, 1963 and settled in the Hudson Falls area for several years. She was employed at Glens Falls Hospital in the laundry department for many years. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the New York Yankees, camping, watching baseball and NASCAR. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her husband, Leroy J. Ash Sr; her brother, Ernest “Butch” Ackley; special aunt, Elaine Johnson; granddaughter,r Kimberly Clark; and grandson, Shane Clark. Survivors include 2 sons, Leroy Ash Jr. of Ft. Ann and Terry (Bobbi-Jo) Ash of Rutland, VT; 1 daughter, Tammy Clark (Kip Sweet) of Glens Falls; 1 brother, Bobby Cleaveland of SC; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Glenda was cared for by her special nephew and niece, Scott and Dawn Ash, along with the staff from Washington County Public Health and Hospice. A graveside service will be held at 10 am Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Notre Dame Cemetery, Schuylerville.
