Obituary of Miguel Pacheco Jr.

Miguel “Mike” Pacheco Jr., 84, a resident of Plains Road, Cambridge and a former resident of Greenwich, died Monday August 27, 2012 at Saratoga Hospital. Born August 13, 1928 in West Warwick, RI, he was the son of Miguel and Janet (Ingram) Pacheco Sr. Mike was a twenty year veteran of the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1965. He then worked as foreman of the Agway Feed Mill in Greenwich, retiring in 1991. He was a 60 year member of the V.F.W. and served Greenwich Post 7291 as Trustee working his way up to Commander and was Quarter Master for many years. He was also a member of Hudson Mohawk 3rd District serving as State Aide De Camp. In addition he was a member of American Legion Liberty Post 515 of Greenwich. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Eleanor Aubrey Pacheco and five sisters. Surviving is his wife Mary Petteys Pacheco, his children; Pam, Mike, Tony, Gerald and Todd Pacheco, his stepchildren; Ann W. Jones, Linda Wimmer, Peter Wimmer, Edward Petteys and Mary Petteys Boller, his sisters; Bernadette DiCarlo, Pat Carll, Ginny Hayes and Barbara Moos, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family and friends may call from 4-7 pm Thursday August 30, 2012 at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. The V.F.W. members will gather at 6 pm at the funeral home for a service. A service with Military Honors will be held at 10 am Thursday September 6, 2012 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. A reception will follow at the V.F.W. Post on Abeel Ave. in Greenwich. The family has suggested that memorials in his name may be made to a veteran’s origination of one’s choice.
