Obituary of Frank E. Moy

Frank E. Moy, of Easton, NY, passed away on September 12, 2012. Born in Burt, North Dakota, Frank was the son of the late John B. Moy and Mildred Harvey Moy. Frank grew up in and around Galway, NY. As a teenager, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Naval Aviator, accumulating over 9,000 flight hours in 33 different types of aircraft, and saw combat during World War II in the Alaskan theater. He retired as a Lieutenant Commander after 24 years of service. After retiring from the Navy, Frank and his family moved to Easton, NY, where Frank became involved in numerous business endeavors, civic groups and fraternal organizations. He owned and operated a farm for twenty years and, during that time, shared his life long love for animals and agriculture with his family and friends. He also sold farm equipment and was a school bus driver for the Schuylerville Central School District. Active in local politics and civic groups, Frank served as the elected Town Justice of the Town of Easton for 10 years and was the President of the Washington County Magistrate’s Association for 2 of those years. He was also an elected Town Supervisor in Easton and served on the Easton Town Board and Washington County Board of Supervisors. Frank was a life member of the Silver Eagles Association, VFW, Sons of the American Revolution, and the Beukendaal Lodge #915 of the Free and Accepted Masons, the Corpus Christi Chapter No 91, Royal Arch Masons and Corpus Christi Council # 55, Royal and Select Masons. He was also a regular supporter of many charities. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Ann Matychak Moy, a son, Michael (Jane) of Downingtown, PA and daughter, Kristen (Michael Catalfimo) of Saratoga Springs, NY; three grandchildren, Kevin and Marielle Moy and Grace Catalfimo, a brother, Newell Moy of Centennial, CO and 11 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Cecil Moy, Reid Moy and Truman Moy, and a sister, Ava Moy. Interment services will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 2 PM. At the conclusion of the services, Family and friends are invited to celebrate Frank’s life at a reception to be held at Panza’s Restaurant, 510 NY 9P, Saratoga Springs, from 3 pm to 6 pm. Frank’s family extends its heartfelt thanks to the health care professionals at Wesley Community who cared for Frank, and especially to the kind and compassionate staff that work on 3 Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the V.F.W., 63 Abeel Ave, Greenwich, NY 12834, or Warren County SPCA, 66 Glenwood Ave, Queensbury, NY 12804.
