Obituary of Chester R. Wood

Chester R. Wood, 63, a resident of Coveville Rd., died unexpectedly Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Saratoga Hospital. Born July 24, 1949 in Troy, NY he was the son of the late Floyd and Mari Carknard Wood. Mr. Wood retired from GE in Waterford. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved going to car shows and tinkering with anything with a motor. He was still listening to Elvis after all these years. He enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 1 sister Yvonne, and 2 brothers, Rick and Ed. Survivors include his daughter, Stacy Wood and her husband Tony Curcio of Cohoes; 1 sister Paula of Greenwich; nieces and nephews, Joseph and Edward Wood, Melissa Miller, Joselyn, Jacob and Jasmine Woodard, and Christine Fossett; several great nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Smokey. Friends may call on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Burial will be in Stillwater Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Chet would have appreciated memorials being made in memory of his mother and sister to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 in lieu of flowers.
