Obituary of William Ivan Richards

William Richards, 86, of Frostproof, FL and formerly of Schuylerville, NY died peacefully in his sleep on October 9, 2012. Born May 31, 1926 he was the son of the late Ivan Lee and Stella King Richards. Bill served in the US Navy from 1943-45. He was an active member of both the American Legion Post 0069 in Avon Park, FL and VFW Post #420 in Saratoga Springs. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Ivan Harry Richards and his wife Jean. Survivors include his wife Patricia Reynolds Richards of Frostproof, FL; 5 children, Patrick (Karen) Richards of Schuylerville, Barbara (Michael) Andrews of Saratoga Springs, John Richards of Ballston Spa, Paul (Tammy) Richards of Colorado, and Susan Richards (John Vasnus) of Indiana; 11 grandchildren, Jason Richards, Heather Wild, Cynthia Keys, Jill Grier, Joseph Richards, Katrina Smith, Lindsay Conklin, Stephanie Richards, Devin Hayes, Valerie Greene, Amber Gauthier; 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 10am-12pm on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, NY. Burial will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Old Saratoga Post #278 American Legion, Clancy St., Schuylerville following the cemetery service.
