Obituary of John Brockway Jr.

John R. Brockway Jr., 59, of Greenwich passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born July 1, 1953 he was a son of John (Jack) Brockway Sr. of South Glens Falls and the late Ruth Hogan Deyoe. John was a lifetime area resident. He was a carpenter and craftsman, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and passion for the outdoors with family and friends. His greatest joy always came from spending time with the many children in his life. Surviving in addition to his father are his three children; April (Bill) Hamilton, Adam and Jesse Brockway all of Greenwich, his four brothers; Timothy, Kevin, Scott and Matthew Brockway all of Greenwich, three sisters; Yvonne Ball of Corinth, Heather Nygard of Gansevoort and Bridgett Cullen of Greenwich. Also surviving are his three grandsons; William, Dutch and Owen, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his lifetime companion, Phyllis Rogers. At his request an informal gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 from noon until 4pm at his daughters’ home, 3068 State Route 40 North, Greenwich, NY 12834.
