Obituary of William R. Thompson

William R. Thompson, 100, a former Greenwich resident died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the Center for Nursing and Rehab in Hoosick Falls. Born November 27, 1911 in New York City, he was the son of William F. and Blanche (Rousseau) Thompson. Bill and his late wife Marjorie retired to Greenwich in 1975, to a farm in the town of Jackson he purchased in 1960. Bill retired as a senior draftsman and set designer for NBC in New York City. He was an avid carpenter, woodworker, toy maker and water color painter. Surviving is his only son Michael Thompson of Los Angeles, CA. An informal service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 1PM in the Greenwich Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn Bros., Inc.
