Obituary of Joseph W. Eustis

Joseph W. Eustis, 77, of Victory Mills, passed away Sunday December 30, 2012, at Saratoga Hospital. Born June 2, 1935 in Victory Mills, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Julia (Stewart) Eustis. Joe was a graduate of Schuylerville Central School and worked in the plumbing heating and air conditioning field with Finch Pruyn, Brian R. Meurs, and retired with Congress Oil Company. He married the love of his life, Patricia "Annie" Pharmer on January 24,1954 and they resided in Smithville the entire 57 years. Joe was a life time member of David Nevins Fire Department, when was younger he was member of the Green Sabres Drum and Bugle Corp and in many bowling leagues in Schuylerville. He enjoyed spending time with the family playing poker around the kitchen table, cooking ( a mean BBQ) and going to restaurants. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Jean Davis, his in-laws John and Viola Pharmer, and special brother-in-law Thomas Nevins. Survivors include his wife Annie; children, Leslie (Mark) Dennison, Joseph J. (Allison) Eustis, Kelly G. (Tami) Eustis and Christopher (Pat) Eustis; Grandchildren, Danielle and Lauren Dennison, Conor and Mackenzie Eustis, Kelly (Trenna), Kourtney and Shannon Eustis; and a great grandson Jack Owen Eustis. Also left to remember him are his siblings, Mary Carmel, Theresa (Rolland) Fontaine, Helen Flood and James (Joann) Eustis, several nieces and nephews, and a special sister-in-law Ione Nevins. The family would like to thank all Dad's special caring and loving nurses at Saratoga Hospital on D-1, you made the end of his life very comfortable with your loving care. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church. Spring burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9-9:45 am at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville prior to the mass. Memorials in his memory can be made to the David Nevins Fire Dept. or the General Schuyler Emergency Squad.
