Obituary of Louis E. Marchaland

Louis E. Marchaland, 86, a resident of Burton Rd., died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at his home. Born August 2, 1926 in Troy, NY he was the son of the late Louis F. and Marion Pinkerton Dennison Marchaland. Mr. Marchaland was a successful dairy farmer on Burton Rd. in Easton. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, a board member of Washington County Insurance Co-op, a member of the Agricultural Stewardship Association, a member of the Easton Town and Washington County Planning Boards, and was a member of Ashlar Lodge #584 F&AM in Greenwich. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 2 sisters, Barbara Coburn and Sarah Smith. Survivors include his children, Louis E. Marchaland Jr. of Easton, Nanette Watson of Roy, Utah, Julie Gann of Argyle, Rosemary Thomas of Greenwich, Andrew Marchaland of Easton, Daniel Marchaland of Easton, Stephen Marchaland of Easton, and Jeanne Macrides of Schaghticoke; 2 sisters, Melva Keefer of Queensbury and Virginia Spitler of Longboat Key, Florida; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 2-5pm on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Greenwich Elks Lodge on Route 40, Greenwich. Spring interment will be in the Easton Rural Cemetery.
