Obituary of Martin J. Weatherwax

Martin J. Weatherwax, 59, a resident of Gates Ave., died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer. Born January 22, 1953 in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of Ida LaPoint Holmes of Victory Mills and the late Paul Weatherwax. Mr. Weatherwax was a US Army veteran. He was a mason by trade and was an avid sportsman. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by 1 brother, Paul Weatherwax Jr. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Susan Mayer Weatherwax of Victory Mills; daughters, Jennifer (Brian) Carpenter of King, NC and Melissa (Lee) St. Gelais, of Windsor, NY; son, Martin John Weatherwax Jr. of Victory Mills; grandchildren, Annabell and Molly Carpenter, Abigail and Brandt St. Gelais, and Owyn Weatherwax; his siblings, Sharon (John) DeLuca of Schuylerville, Debbie (Gary) Pechette of Saratoga Springs, David (Janie) Holmes of Victory Mills, Douglas Holmes of Greenwich, Richard (Tracey) Holmes of Ft. Ann, Tina (Stacey) Mattison of Argyle, Pam (Bruce) LaChapelle of Hudson Falls, Dawn (Rob) Taylor of Hudson Falls, and Cheryl Namer of Argyle; and 21 nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10am Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, with Rev. Virginia Cornell, officiating. Burial will follow at 11am in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
