Obituary of Glennen A. Woodward

Glennen Ada Woodward, 89, a resident of Wesley Health Care Center, Saratoga Springs, NY died Thursday, January, 24, 2013. Born in Greenwich, NY on March 3, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Hazel (Peasley) Abbott. Glennen was a member of Greenwich School class of 1941. She graduated from Royal Academy of Cosmeticians, Albany, NY in 1941. She operated Glennan's Beauty Studio for 50 years. She was a Greenwich Central School bus driver and an active CSEA & AFSCME- subchapter 999 member for several years. Glennen was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Greenwich, NY as well as a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #515 in Greenwich, Order of the Eastern Star Cambridge Valley #147, Life and Charter member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #7291, Greenwich, NY. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Ashton "Gus" Woodward as well as her brother, Gordon Abbott. Survivors include 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela & David Jackson of Seattle, Washington, Sandra & William Bounds of Greenwich, and Deborah & Daniel O'Connor of Picyune, Mississippi; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorials in Glennen's name can be made to the Greenwich VFW Post 7291 Lift Fund, Abeel Ave. Greenwich, NY 12834. There will be no calling hours. Spring burial will be in Greenwich Cemetery.
