Obituary of Jane Geppner

Jane Geppner, 76, a lifelong resident of Schuylerville, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at Albany Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. Born July 28, 1936 in Troy, NY she was the daughter of the late Paul and Florence Sheldon Garnsey. Mrs. Geppner was a graduate of Schuylerville Central School. She worked in the insurance business for many years and had been employed at H & R Block in Saratoga Springs for 20 years. She was a member of Old Saratoga Reformed Church in Schuylerville and was an avid knitter. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Albert “Buck” Geppner and her brother, Zene Garnsey. Survivors include her 3 daughters, Brenda Everts of Hudson Falls, Cheryl Rando of Schuylerville, and Debra Grant of Corinth; 1 grandson, David Johansen; 3 granddaughters, Melissa (Rob) Joubert, Karen (Nathan) Byrnes, and Christina Farrell; several great grandchildren; 1 sister, Grace Sherman of Schuylerville; 1 brother, Glenn Garnsey of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11am Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Old Saratoga Reformed Church, Schuylerville with Rev. Joyce deVelder, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorials can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
