Obituary of Ann Liptak-Weir

Ann Liptak-Weir, 84, a former resident of Schuylerville, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. Born June 1, 1928 in Prague, Czechoslovakia she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Melaga. Ann was the proprietor of Lippy’s Bar & Grill for 35 years. She was an avid bowler and loved to play pool. She enjoyed being around people, especially her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Anthony Liptak and Frank Weir, and a son, John Liptak. Survivors include 2 daughters, Mary Ann (John) Emerson and Donna (Jim) Henry of Florida; 2 sons, James (Sheila) Liptak and Michael (Marty) Liptak of Schuylerville; daughter-in-law Donna Liptak of Schuylerville; 2 sisters, Mary Martinovich and Millie DeGregory of Saratoga Springs; 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 4pm Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville with Rev. Janet Vincent, officiating. Spring burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-4pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
