Obituary of Catherine Derby

Catherine H. Derby, 91, a resident of Summerville, SC and a former resident of Greenwich and Schuylerville NY, died Friday, March 15, 2013 after a brief illness. Born November 7, 1921 in Schuylerville, she was the daughter of Antonio and Loretta (Potter) Caisse. She married Harold W. Derby on May 24, 1947. Catherine was employed for many years for the Dairy Bar in Schuylerville and The Carl Company in Saratoga Springs. She was a member of Saint Stephens Episcopal Church in Schuylerville. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold who died April 22, 2006. She is survived by Mary Lee Mockford of Nevada and Kevin Caisse of Rode Island; her four children, Patricia Hubert and her husband, Robert, of Summerville, SC, Barbara Chellis and her husband, C. Milton Chellis, of Whitehall, Scott Derby and his wife Mary Kay, of Clifton Park and Nancy Smith and her husband, Paul, of Fort Edward; seven grandchildren, Jason and Seth Hubert, Sarah Frechette, Anne and Matthew Chellis, and Claire and Samantha Derby; six great grandchildren, Jackson Tumbleston, Maxwell, Emilia and Oliver Frechette, and Ethan and Emmalynne Hubert; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. At Catherine’s request there will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials in Catherine’s name be made to the Greenwich Rescue Squad, PO Box 84, Greenwich, NY 12834. Arrangements are under the direction of Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Avenue, Schuylerville, NY.
