Obituary of Robert L. Ramsden

Robert L Ramsden, 73, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Glens Falls Hospital with his loving family at his side. Born July 9 , 1939, in Bald Mountain, he was the son of the late Lester and Anne (Hogan) Ramsden. On October 2, 1964 he married Becky Burts at Visitation Church, in Schuylerville, New York. Bob served with the United States Marine Corps and received a Good Conduct Medal and Expert Rifleman Badge. Bob retired from Encore Paper Mill, in South Glens Falls, NY. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed all his hunting buddies and all the good food they cook. He enjoyed many projects especially “ supervising” the completion of all. He was a member of The American Legion , Owl Kill Pistol Club, and a past member of the Elks. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his two brothers John and Charles Ramsden. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Becky; his two daughters Ritann (Ramsden) Peters, of Duanesburg, and Robin (Ramsden) Vernon, of Greenwich; Three Granddaughters, who were the light of his life, Katie Kirk, of Greenwich, Kiah Kirk of Greenwich, and Jamie Ramsden Peters, of Duanesburg. Friends may call at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main Street Greenwich, Sunday, April 7, 2013 between 4PM and 7PM. Funeral services will be at 11am Monday, April 8, 2013 at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center, Burton Road, Greenwich. A reception , in the Great Hall, will follow immediately. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Christ the King Spiritual Life Center.
