Obituary of Margaret Williams

Margaret L. Williams, 85, passed away at home peacefully Thursday, April 18, 2013. Born in Pearl River, NY she was the daughter of the late Walter L. and Louise DeLano Lyons. Margaret grew up in Emerson, NJ and was a 1946 graduate of Westwood High School. She married George Williams and lived in Schuylerville, NY for several years where they had their first 3 children and then moved to downstate NY and had 2 more children. She enjoyed summer vacations in New Hampshire at her family’s summer home, reading and working in her garden. Following the death of her husband George Williams in 1979 she moved back to upstate NY and worked for several years doing home care. She retired and spent her remaining years with her longtime companion George Ferguson who passed away June 9, 2013. She was also predeceased by 1 son, Stephen J. Williams and 1 sister, Ruth E. Lyons. Survivors include her sister, Louise Colton of West Milford, NJ; 2 brothers, Walter L. Lyons of Monroe, NY and Stephen L. Lyons of Bloomingdale, NJ; 1 son, George H. Williams III (Susan) of Middlebury, Indiana; 3 daughters, Margaret Rebecca Williams of W. Virginia, Eileen LaVarnway (Randy) of Lake Pleasant, NY and Marie L. Zeno (Todd) of Greenwich; daughter-in-law Maria Espana of Reno, NV; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 5pm Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St. Greenwich. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-5pm prior to the service. Memorials can be made in her memory to the Salem Rescue Squad. The family would like to thank Peg’s Angels for all the care they gave to Margaret.
