Obituary of Irene R. Baker

Irene Rose (Chase) Baker, 86, passed away peacefully May 4, 2013 at Maplewood Manor Nursing Home, Ballston Spa. Born October 18, 1926 in Stillwater, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Emma Kilmer Chase. Irene was predeceased by her husband Erwin (Bill) Baker whom she married in 1944; 4 brothers, Walter, Laverne, Jesse and John Chase; 8 sisters Isabel Wanko, Emma Crandall, Mary Bolton, Anna Jolly, Grace Baker, Alice Hayes, Edith Niles and Vida Burch. Survivors include 1 sister, Ada Boucher; her niece and care giver, Kathy Barnes; and many other nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1pm Monday, May 13, 2013 in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Schuylerville. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Crystal, Gena, Becky and Hilda for the loving care which allowed Irene to live independently, and to the staff at Maplewood Manor. Memorials can be made to Saratoga County Animal Shelter in memory of Dotie and Eenie (her adored feline companions).
