Charles Bobinsky

Obituary of Charles J. Bobinsky

Charles John Bobinsky, Jr., born in Chicago, Illinois, died after a short illness at the age of 89 in Saratoga Springs, NY. Charles, known as Chuck to close friends, is survived by his wife of 58 years, Suzanne Ingham Bobinsky, sons Glen (Gail) Bobinsky of Hendersonville, NC, Charles John Bobinsky III of Benton, KY, Michael Bobinsky (Tammy) of Prior Lake, MN; and daughters Gale Adams (Nick) of Clarkston, MI, and Susan Hedderman (Corey) of Schuylerville, NY. His beloved grandchildren and great- grandchildren will keep the memory of their strong, loving, intelligent grandpa alive for future generations. Chuck served his country proudly as a Marine in the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Project Manager in the electrical construction industry until his retirement. His love and ownership of motorcycles began in his early teens and continued throughout his life. He was an avid auto racing fan and attended races in Europe and America, rarely missing the Indianapolis 500 qualification weekend at the ‘Brickyard’ or a NASCAR race on the TV. Always renowned to have the ability to fix or build anything, he had a workshop that was envied by most. He repaired electronic, mechanical, furniture items or appliances and built furniture in his spare time. Chuck Bobinsky frequently smoked a quality cigar, sometimes accompanied by a brandy Manhattan. He especially enjoyed both, while sitting on his porch viewing the natural beauty of the fields, mountains, river, trees, and birds that surrounded him. A memorial service for Charles will be scheduled at a future date. Donations can be made in his name to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
