Jimmy, Anne, and family,
I was very sad to learn of your dad’s passing. I was a LPN working in the ER when your dad came to Mary McClellan in 1978. I was working full time and pursuing my RN. On quiets evenings in the ER your dad and I would retreat to the back room and he would help me study. He was very proud of the A
I got that year in Microbiology! After McClellan closed, and we all went in different directions, I would often see your dad in the office or at Hannaford.
He always wanted to know where I was and what I was doing. We had many great chats in that Hannaford. In fact, one time all the frozen food in my cart thawed!
I spoke with him a few weeks ago by phone and he promised he was coming out to my house to see me. He was very happy to learn that I am now retired.
He was a great guy with a kind and generous heart. He will very much be missed by the entire Greenwich community.
My deepest sympathy to you all.
Sincerely
Theresa Seabury

I was shocked and saddened to read of Dr. Carroll's passing (I've been away and did not learn of it until today). His obituary is a lovely testament to him. I'm familiar with most of the stories within it. Yes, he loved to talk :). He was well known and embraced within the CWI community, his "retirement" was bittersweet. His love for his family was obvious and you are all in my thoughts as you mourn your loss. Sincerely, Deb Rowell

God bless Dr. Carroll. I was working in the lab at Mary McClellan Hospital when Dr. Carroll first came to town. He was kind and generous with his time and always was willing to answer questions. He was the first DO I ever knew and and encouraged me to continue to pursue my dream of going to medical school even though I had been rejected several times. Never got to thank him for the impact he had on me becoming a physician. I definitely looked up to him. I knew he was an engineer before going to medical school. I've been living in Oregon for 10 years now and have driven across the Astoria bridge a thousand times and knowing he helped build it, well I'll think of him every time I drive across it going forward.

RIP for a great man, a loss for Greenwich. He always told me that my father was the first person he met in Greenwich when Mike sold him his home on Gray Ave. I'm sure every medical appointment my Dad had with Doc was a full half hour of just plain visiting. They were great friends. Two good men, both gone, but I'm sure having another half hour visit in Heaven.
