Obituary of Rose A. Venn

Rose A. Venn, passed into the arms of Jesus at Wesley Health Care Center on August 3, 2013 after a long and full life. She was 101 years old. Born January 3, 1912 in Schenectady, NY she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bridget Callahan Mahoney. Mrs. Venn was a 1932 graduate of St. Peters Hospital School of Nursing in Albany, and worked as a registered nurse at Saratoga Hospital for many years. She was a communicant of Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America #396 and the Old Saratoga Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Venn; her son, Robert Venn; 1 brother and 5 sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann Venn-Parillo and her husband William of Schuylerville; 1 sister, Mary Hall Ashe of Schenectady, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30am Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church, with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 10-11 am at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Her daughter wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Wesley 3 Springs who cared for Rose. They are an amazing group of supportive people and will be cherished forever. A special thank you to Ruth Pouliot for the love and kindness you have given to my mother. I will never forget you all.
