Obituary of Benjamin J. Smith

Benjamin James Smith, 33, passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 12, 2013. He was born July 15, 1980 in Cambridge, NY and was the beloved son of Theresa Spiezio Seabury and Brandon James Smith. Ben was a 1998 graduate of Greenwich Central School and was employed by Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. He was a devoted Yankee fan never missing an opportunity to challenge a Red Sox fan. He loved to read and debate what he read with whoever was willing, rarely ever losing an argument. His friendship was loyal and those he loved, he loved deeply. Ben adored his sister and brothers and was very proud of their accomplishments. He has always been his sister’s champion. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Louis and Alice Spiezio. In addition to his parents, Ben is survived by his stepparents, Robert Seabury Jr. and Janine Lyons Smith; his sister, Brieanna Lynn Smith; brothers, Kyle Seabury and Tad Smith; paternal grandparents, James and Luella Smith; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Ben will forever be remembered for his beautiful smile. There will be no calling hours and services will be private.
