Obituary of Donald M. Casey

Donald M Casey (age 78), passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. Born April 27, 1935 to Martin and Dorothy Casey, he was the fourth of eight children, Lawrence (deceased), Margaret (deceased), Rose, Marcella (deceased), John, Theresa (deceased) and Martin Jr. A lifelong resident of Smithville, NY he was a man of many talents, possessing a quick wit and keen insight into human nature. Donald is predeceased by his son James E. Casey. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Eleanor L. Casey; their five children, Donald M. Casey Jr., Marcella Minor, John Casey, Eleanor Marble and Cadmus Casey; eight grandchildren, Jason Casey, Ariel Pigliavento, Aaron and Kory Minor, Amanda Garris, Sean Casey, Ashley and David Marble, Erica Goodling and Kyra Casey; five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Jocelyn, Isabella, Aurora and Colton; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10am Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
