Condolences to all of Janet's family and friends. She was one of my most favorite teachers back in the day and remained a friend ever since. RIP.

Mrs. Aldous was such a kind, fun, sweet woman. Being neighbors for years she was always so welcoming, thoughtful and loving. She always had a smile for my daughter Viv and something to say to bring her out of her shy shell. Weather it was brining over veggies, taking a dip or swinging by to trick or treat Viv always looked forward to seeing her and chit chatting. Janet was a beautiful soul and will be dearly missed by all.

We have been so fortunate to be accepted as part of this wonderful family throughout the years. The memories I have of pool party's, football games, and holiday dinners will never fade and are ones I was able to pass onto my children. Janet was a true matriarch and powerhouse of a woman. I can also say the same for her daughters who have all played a role in my childhood in one way or another. Thank you for all the love you have shared. Nana will be deeply missed but her spirit lives in all her friends and family. We know she is finally at peace.
"Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow."
With all our love,
Tashina, Cole, Anvil and Acious

Janet was a good friend and wonderful person. She will be missed by many. We had many great times teaching together in and out of school. I guess she will be winning all of those 4th grade track meets now. We'll miss you Janet!

When my family moved to Greenwich from California in April of my fourth-grade year (the second time I'd changed schools that year), Mrs. Aldous became my teacher--and provided my first introduction to life in the village. Oddly enough, I remember her sharp, kind eyes and her identity as a runner more than anything I learned in the two months at the end of the year. I will be offering prayers for the progress of her soul, and for the comfort of her family and the many others whose lives she touched.

To the entire Aldous Family,
We are so very sorry for the loss of your Mom. There isn’t enough space to write about the impact your Mom has had on so many people in this community. What I loved most about Mrs. (Janet) Aldous was that she always told it like it was in a loving way. She was and is a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, teacher and lastly a friend to so many. The loss of your Mom will have a great impact on this community and we will never forget her. May your memories and closeness of your family guide you through this most difficult time. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I was a 4th grade student of hers and she was very special to me .I have vivid memories of her reading out loud to the class , and voicing all of the characters . She also instilled in me a love of American history which became my career. My deepest condolences to the family, please know in a small way I share your grief.
