Obituary of Judith C. Skellie
Judith C. Skellie, 68, of Greenwich died peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 16, 2013 after a long illness. Born December 3, 1944 in Greenwich, Judy was the daughter of the late Forrest E. Colby Sr. and the late Roma D. (McLean) Colby. She was a 1962 graduate of Greenwich Central School. Her employers included Keniry Motors and Miller's Livestock Market. She also helped her husband manage their dairy farm. More recently, Judy was a successful Skin Care Consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics, a career she fully enjoyed. Judy married W. Kenneth Skellie on April 20, 1965. Judy was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Forrest E. Colby Jr. Survivors include her husband, W. Kenneth Skellie of Greenwich; her daughter, Heidi Eustis of Victory Mills; her son, Christopher (Kathleen) Skellie of Fort Edward; her grandchildren, Jonah, Rebekah, Job, and Hannah Eustis, Mitchell and Luke Skellie; her sisters, Gloria (Bill) Towne and Roma Dae (Mark) Walsh; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. One of Judy's greatest joys in life was being a grandmother, and spending time with her six grandchildren, who will always fondly remember their special "birthday shopping" trips with Grandma. The family would like to extend special thanks to Pansy, Nancy, Pete, and Sak; to Eileen "Slim" Reid and Rev. Dave Simmons, and to all those who supported us and made it possible for Judy to remain in the comfort of her own home. We would also like to thank Kelly, Stacy, and Carol from High Peaks Hospice for their excellent care and support. Services will be private. The family suggests that donations in Judy's memory be made to High Peaks Hospice, The United Presbyterian Church of Salem, or The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast New York.
