Dear Marchaland Family,
There are three words that come to mind immediately when we think of Dan. Family - Farming - Friendliness. This is how many people (especially in Easton) will remember Dan, not just us. And, rest assured, he will always be remembered. We are so very, very sorry for your loss.

Dan was our nephew and cousin. We fondly remember holiday and summer visits to the farm, and to Green Pond, where Dan was happy and industrious from his earliest years. Our group of 16 cousins was gratifyingly close as a family, and Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with 28 of us shoulder to shoulder in Grandma and Gramp’s dining room remain among our happiest memories.
More recently we remember how gracious and proud he was to show us the results of his years of work developing the farm his grandfather started, and where his father worked his entire life. He loved taking many of us on rides up through the fields, meadows, and hills that comprise the family farm. We will all miss his smile that lit up a room, his generosity, and his warm welcomes every time we visited.
We grieve for Dan and send Joann, and all of Dan’s siblings and their families, our love and support and deepest sympathy.

I really enjoyed my farm visits. Dan was always in good mood in which we both saw humor in everyday farming. It was just recently I heard about his sickness. Many will miss him, I know I will. Wishing the Marshaland Family the best. Sincerely, Mark Kelsey

I got to know Dan 1st as his milk inspector then I got to know him as a friend, teacher , fellow car nut , from my early days as a rookie inspector he was always willing to share his knowledge, perspective and thoughts which we’re always insightful, always loved my farm visits and always felt welcomed, like so many producers he loved his “ job” and was a great caretaker of his animals and land , he is in my prayers today and his family is also in my thoughts and prayers, cancer is evil , he fought a great battle….. Dan it’s time to rest

JoAnn and family,
I’m so very sorry for your loss. Even though I haven’t seen Danny in a long time, I will always remember his smile. I can’t recall a time where he wasn’t smiling. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
