Obituary of Teresa M. LaVoy

Teresa “Terry” Fitzgerald LaVoy, 85, a longtime resident of Schuylerville, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at Saratoga Hospital.

Born March 25, 1937 in Schuylerville, NY she was the daughter of the late Wickham and Eleanor Piroha Fitzgerald.

Terry was a graduate of Schuylerville Central School where she enjoyed playing all sports. She worked for several years at Grand Union, Price Chopper, and Sulli’s Market, and retired from food service at Skidmore College.  She enjoyed bowling, Bingo, swimming, the Jersey Shore, camping, traveling, her gardens, going to the casino, doing scratch-offs, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Willard LaVoy; 2 sons, Timmy and Jeffrey LaVoy; and her brother, Amil Fitzgerald.

She is survived by her daughter Tammy (Terry) O’Connor of Manasquan, NJ; her friend, Charlene Metz, who was like a daughter; her beloved cat Bruno (her buddy); several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4-6 pm Friday, March 17, 2023 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.  Spring burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Schuylerville.
