Obituary of Rich Forest

Richard “Rich” Forest, 77, a resident of Greenwich, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Albany Medical Center, following a long hard-fought battle with Cancer.

He was born January 22, 1946, in Troy, New York to the late Emmanuel F. and Violet (Labarge) Forest.

Rich served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1964-1966, earning the rank of Sergeant.  He was a skilled carpenter, avid golfer, working for many years as a Ranger/Starter, at Vista Plantation Golf Course, in Vero Beach, Florida.  Rich was a loving and devoted husband of 30 years, to Patricia Niger, until her passing in 2016. 

Rich was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by his sister Francis Forest. 

Survivors include his loving children, Jason R. (Kristen) Forest of Scotia, Matthew Forest of Troy, Michelle Lapping of California, and Jacqueline Bruce of Greenwich; sister’s Judith (James) Ball, Linda (Gary) Kircher and Anne (David) Wright; beloved grandchildren, Anthony and Chase, Jett and Elijah Bruce, Carter, and Hanna Forest.

Interment with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 2:30 pm, in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY, 12871.
