Obituary of Phyllis Riley

Phyllis M. Riley, 94, a resident of Easton, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at her home. 

She was born August 26, 1928, in Coxsackie, NY, to the late Howard T. and Margaret (Eignor) Walker

Phyllis spent her entire life caring for children, as a childcare provider.  She was a member of the Women’s Club, and State Farm Bureau District Women’s Committee.  She also belonged to the Home Bureau and Easton Fire Department Auxiliary.

Phyllis was a devoted member of the Easton United Methodist Church.  Phyllis was an avid rug hooker, knitter, and gardener. She enjoyed knitting prayer shawls, which were blessed, and given to people in need.   

She was predeceased by her husband Larry Riley; brothers, Robert and Harold Walker and sister, Lucy Lezatte. 

She is survived by her loving children, Margaret A. Riley of Rocky Hill, CT, Colleen M. Riley of Watervliet, Robert L. (Patricia) Riley of East Greenwich, Kathleen M. Riley of Easton, Patricia L. (Dan) McFee of Easton, and James P. (Suzanne) Riley of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, James (Arlene) Riley, Ashlee, Caitlin, Meghan and Robert Riley, Danielle and Patrick McFee; new light of her life, great-grandson, Kai Riley; sister, Carol J. (Louie) Perrine; sisters-in-law, Beverly Walker and Joan Walker

A celebration of Phyllis’s life will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Easton United Methodist Church, 2053 State Route 40, Schaghticoke, NY, 12154. A reception for family and friends will follow in the church hall.

Private burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery will be held at a later date.
