Tristan Sterling Howard

January 20, 1980 – October 17, 2023

Tristan Howard, aged 43, passed away suddenly October 17, 2023 in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. 

He was born January 20, 1980 in Darwin and was the son of David and Rebecca Howard of Hervey Bay, Australia.

Having been born in Australia, Tristan moved to Schuylerville, New York at a young age with his parents and sister.  Tristan was a graduate of Schuylerville Central High School Class of 1998, dedicated to his academics, basketball, and tennis.

Tristan returned to Australia as an adult, joining his parents and his sister.  He went on to receive a Bachelor of Environmental Science and a Master of Environmental Management from Charles Darwin University.  A lifelong learner and lover of the environment and wildlife, Tristan was working as a Ranger Coordinator in the remote Aboriginal community of Maningrida.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Harry and Dorothy Howard; Catherine and Van Wyck Conlee; and cousins Bobby Johnson and Patrick Casey.

Survivors in addition to his loving parents, David and Rebecca, include his sister and brother in law, Kate and Owen McGrath of Sydney; Aunts and Uncles Steve and Carol Howard, John and Andrea Conlee, Maryleen and Rick Johnson, Gail and Paul Casey and Lauretta Ostrander; cousins Jennifer Bankey, Christina Healey, Danielle Clark, Bill Conlee, Jeff Conlee, Darya Johnson, Kevin Casey and Erin Casey Pellegrino; in addition to his beloved nephews and niece, Cillian, Aidan and Keavy McGrath.
