Obituary of SueAnn Perkins

Sue Ann Marra Perkins, 76, a lifelong resident of Greenwich, passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on February 10th, 1947 in Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, New York, Sue Ann was raised by her parents Charles L. Marra and Madeline V. (Hogan) Marra. She graduated from Greenwich Central School in 1965. After being born in the same hospital and staying in the same nursery, she reconnected with and married Donald F. Perkins Jr (Skip) in 1970, where they went on to raise their two daughters Sue Anne (Perkins) Brierley and Stephanie (Perkins) Widman.

Sue prided herself on creating a welcoming home environment for anyone who walked in the door to laugh and share stories, her voracious appetite for reading, her strong Irish heritage, and her love of cooking which she shared with anyone who needed a warm meal. Sue was always lending an ear to someone who needed to feel loved and was more than willing to share the many stories of her wonderful extended family.

Sue is survived by her husband Donald, her daughters Sue Anne Perkins Brierley and her husband Robert. Stephanie Perkins Widman and her husband Eric, her treasured grandsons Brendan Brierley, Daniel Brierley, and Damien Widman, as well as a large extended family that she loved so much.

We are honoring Sue Ann's wishes of no calling hours or services.

In lieu of a flowers, the family asks for a small donation to your local library or hospice service in memory of Sue Ann.
