Obituary of Konstantinos Tsitos

Konstantinos Tsitos, 76, a resident of Cottage St, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Albany Medical Center with his family by his side . Born June 18, 1937 in Vortopia, Greece he was the son of Spiros and Eleni Christou Tsitos. Mr. Tsitos started as a baker in Athens, Greece. He moved his family to Greenwich in 1974 and established the Greenwich House of Pizza and later the Whitehall House of Pizza. He was a member of St. Basil's Greek Orthodox Church in Troy, NY. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Vlasis Tsitos. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Eleftheria Alexiou Tsitos of Greenwich; one son, Spiros Tsitos and his wife Soula of Saratoga Springs; one daughter, Eleni Tsitos Natsis and her husband Thanasis of Athens, Greece; three grandchildren; Leonidas Natsis, Konstantinos and Stefanos Tsitos; one sister, Polixeni Exarchos and one brother, Christos Tsitos, both of Greece; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Monday, January 20, 2014 at St. Basil's Greek Orthodox Church, 909 River St, Troy, NY with Father Emmanuel E. Mantourzis officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 2 - 5 pm at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich. Spring Interment will be in Greenwich Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be made to the Easton Greenwich Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 84, Greenwich, NY, 12834.
