Mary Roberts

Obituary of Mary M. Roberts

Mary M. Roberts, 87, lifelong resident of Schuylerville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at her residence at the Home of The Good Shepard.

She was born in Schuylerville, NY on May 6, 1936, to the late Thomas and Julia (Myers) Mulvihill.

For over 40 years Mary brought light, love, smiles and maybe a little extra food as the Schuylerville Central School Cook. All the children loved her, and her impact won’t be forgotten.  She also worked as a white cap usher for the NYRA in Saratoga Springs.

Mary was certainly spunky and a sweetheart, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, always putting the needs of others before her own.  She would do anything for anybody and always supported her children and grandchildren’s events. Mary would always tell her family she loved them.

Mary enjoyed reading, gardening, breakfast with friends and Sunday meals with family.  Her homemade fruit salad will never be matched.  As a child she took great pride in her education, never missing a day of school.  She loved the ice cream combo of black raspberry and coffee.

Her faith was important to her, and she was a communicant of the Notre-Dame Visitation Church in Schuylerville, as well as the bell ringer during lunch time at the old Visitation Church.  She will be missed by all who know her, but her light will continue in the lives of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Raymond Roberts; sister, Frances Mulvihill, and brother, Thomas Mulvihill.

Survivors include her loving daughters, Kim (Wayne) Collins of Corinth, Sheri (Robert) Williams of Saratoga Springs, Kris (Raymond) Foote of Whitehall and Lori (John) Warmt of Saratoga Springs, grandchildren, Wade and Travis Collins, Julia Williams, and Alyssa (Robert) Knotek, Nicole (Neil) Molinero, Raymond (Ayla) Foote, Mary (Jeremy) Hoag, Emily (Cyrus Corsetti) Warmt and Sydney Warmt; great-grandchildren, Finley, Gavin, Tristan, Anthony, Sophie and Mazie

Mary’s wish was to have no calling hours.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Notre Dame Visitation Church, 18 Pearl St, Schuylerville, NY, 12871.  Spring burial will be held in the St Mary’s Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.

Donations in her name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.act.alz.org or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
