Obituary of Dorothy Warner

Dorothy C. Warner, a resident of Ranger Rd., died at her home on Saturday, January 18, 2014 surrounded by her loving husband, Walter and family. She was 87 years old. Dorothy was born November 7, 1926 in Cleveland, OH and was the daughter of the late Merle and Florence Koop Roe. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her twin daughters, Susan Warner as an infant, and Sandra Florence Warner in September of 2013. Dorothy was a dedicated homemaker and took great pride being a wife and mother. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved to share her baked goods with friends. She enjoyed hosting dinner parties and trying out new recipes on her guests. She was a skilled seamstress, knitter and quilter. She sewed all her clothes and her daughter’s clothes while they were growing up. She enjoyed decorating her house and hand stenciled all the walls. She received many awards at the Sussex County Fair in New Jersey for her quilts. She also loved to garden and had a great green thumb. She also had a deep faith and was active in her church. Our mom had a great love of animals. When she lived in NJ, she had a small herd of deer that would come visit her and when she’d call out to them, they’d come running. She adopted many cats that had originally come as strays and ended up with a loving warm home. Dorothy will be missed by her husband, family and friends. She will be remembered for her love of telling jokes and always making you smile. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Walter W. Warner of Schuylerville; 3 daughters, Linda Warner of Berlin, WI, Merry Warner of Tuscon, AZ, and Ladean ( husband Joseph) Adamiszyn of Malta, NY; 4 grandchildren, Rebekah DuBois, Jami LaCasse, Katie and Joshua Adamiszyn; 3 great grandchildren, Matthew and Anna Schraven and Jeremiah LaCasse; 1 sister, Geraldine Paswater of Indianapolis, IN; 1 brother, Richard (Joy) Roe of Marble Falls, TX. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Schuylerville United Methodist Church, Church St., Schuylerville, with Rev. Virginia Cornell, officiating. A reception will follow for family and friends in the church hall. The burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Memorials can be made in her memory to The Haven of Saratoga, PO Box 2871, Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or the ASPCA.
