Obituary of Jennie "Jane" Parent

Jennie H. “Jane” Parent, 85, a resident of Route 29 E., died unexpectedly Friday, February 14, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her family. Born February 21, 1928 in Halfmoon, NY, she was raised on the Ceremuga Dairy Farm with her parents, the late Thaddeus and Anna Bojec Ceremuga. Jane married Theodore F. Parent Sr. on May 1, 1949. They resided in Halfmoon for 37 years before moving to Saratoga Springs 25 years ago. She was a life member of the Halfmoon Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Country Round and Square Dance Assoc. She and her husband attended weekly dances on Sundays at the American Legion in Schuylerville. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but her family and their needs was her number one priority. She was a good cook, enjoyed gardening, and loved to give tours of all the beautiful flowers she grew in her gardens. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 2 brothers, John and Edward Ceremuga; and 3 sisters, Mary Marble, Helen Landor, and Stachia Jawtakis. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Theodore F. Parent Sr. of Saratoga Springs; 3 sons, Theodore F. Parent Jr. (Erin) of Halfmoon, Gary E. Parent of Saratoga Springs and Randy J. Parent (Sharon) of Halfmoon; 2 daughters, Nola Parent of Saratoga Springs and Connie Nowakowski (Paul) of Clifton Park; 2 sisters, Clara Watrobski (Stanley) of Halfmoon and Viola Masur of Scotia; grandsons, Dennis Brown of Hudson, Shaun Parent of Cohoes, Andrew Parent of Halfmoon, Jesse Parent of Albany; granddaughter, Jennifer Dugan (Joseph) of Glenville; beloved great grandchildren Brody and Olivia Dugan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins and her loving lap dog Mr. Bo Jangles “BoBo” of Saratoga Springs. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Notre Dame-Visitation Church, Schuylerville with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Waterford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 3-6pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville.
