Obituary of Rameo Poirier

Rameo E. Poirier, 83, a resident of Charlton died Monday, February 17, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born April 8, 1930 in Windsor, Ontario he was the son of the late Dona’t and Minni Poirier. Mr. Poirier was a US Army Veteran having served from 1954-1957. He was employed by New York State as an Engineer at Mt. McGregor in Wilton for many years. He enjoyed Country Music, his family pets, and visiting with various family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Joyce Poirier; stepdaughter, Leanne Schaff; 1 sister, Doris Woodcock; and 2 brothers, Orphir and Glen Poirier. Survivors include 4 sons, Scott (Ivy) Poirier, Kevin Poirier, Christopher (Marta) Poirier, and Daniel Poirier; 1 daughter, Samantha (Steven) Beaury; 1 stepson, David (Annie) Mihalek; 1 brother, Dona Poirier; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A committal service will be held at 1pm Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville. Friends may call on Friday from 10-12pm at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville, prior to the service at the cemetery. Memorials can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
