Obituary of Marion E. Decker

Marion E. Decker, 98, a life long resident of Schuylerville, died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Washington Center (Pleasant Valley Nursing Facility) in Argyle. Born August 30, 1915 in Schuylerville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Eunice Goodale Eddy. Mrs. Decker worked for many years at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs retiring in 1981. She was a member of Old Saratoga Post #278 Ladies Auxiliary, the Old Saratoga Seniors, and had been a member of the Schuylerville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and bowling. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Decker in 2000, her son, William Decker in 2006, as well as 1 sister, Helen Eddy Germain and 1 brother, Donald Eddy. Survivors include her son Glenn (Rose) Decker of Schuylerville; 4 grandchildren, Mathew (Amy) Decker, Kristy Tagliarino, David Decker, and Trina (Michael) Post; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:30am Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Burial will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Friends may call on Thursday from 10-11:30am prior to the service at the funeral home.
