Obituary of Kendall B. Bacon

Kendall B. Bacon, 89, a resident of Church St., died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital. Born November 14, 1924 in Hope Arkansas, he was the son of the late Erskine and Texie Decker Bacon. Kendall was a proud member of the US Marine Corps serving during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. Though he spent much of his adult life in Long Beach, California and Hawaii, his years in Greenwich were a cherished time in his life. He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his life partner of 60 plus years, Leon Arevalo; brothers, Douglas and Neil, and his sisters, Bessie and Margaret whom he thought to have hung the moon and the stars. Kendall, known to his family as “Uncle Tommy”, is survived by his nephews, Billy and Richard, and nieces, Martha, Linda, Kay, Betty, and Nancy, all of whom have loved their “Uncle Tommy” their whole lives. It goes without saying that Kendall is also survived by countless dear friends in New York, Southern California, and Hawaii. Aloha (with love) dear one and Mahalo (thank you) for the laughter and joy you brought to all our lives. Kendall’s family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to driver and estate caretakers, Hans and Debra Mullen, as well as to the 24-7 home health staff that was employed making this last year possible. A service will be held at the Forest Park Cemetery, Shreveport, LA.
