Obituary of Milton Lundberg

Milton Adam Lundberg, 87, of Easton, NY passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Wesley Health Care Center comforted in his final hours by loving family members. Born Dec. 29, 1926 in Easton, NY, he was the son of the late Birger and Helen( MacAuley) Lundberg. Milt attended Barker’s Grove District 5 schoolhouse and graduated from Greenwich Central School. He operated a dairy farm for most of his life and was employed as a part time Washington County Deputy Sheriff. He also operated a small country store known as the Easton Trading Post, where he was known to “hold court” with many of his friends and patrons. He was married to Bernice Monroe in 1952. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by Bernice in May of 2000. He was one of the founding members of the Easton Volunteer Fire Company in which he served for many years in various roles. In addition to enjoying good visits and good times with friends and family, he was known to play a variety of self-taught musical instruments, including the piano, accordion and harmonica. Survivors include his children, Paul and wife Judith (Page) of Easton, NY., Amy (Lundberg)Yamamoto and husband Nobuyuki of Glenolden, PA. and Jon and wife Marilyn (Pearson) of Pendelton, SC. , a brother Harold P. Lundberg of Arizona, a sister Beatrice Steen of Pleasant Valley Infirmary in Argyle, NY., 7 grand-children, 2 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their families. At the family’s request there will be no calling hours. A memorial to Milton is planned for a future date and will be announced at that time. For those wishing to remember “Smitty” in a special way the family suggests that donations be made to the Easton Volunteer Fire Company.

As of 3-21-2000 Milton wishes to be cremated and cremains scattered on property. He wishes the same for his wife.
