Obituary of Greg J. Curtin
Greg J. Curtin (Toughest Man in Greenwich) died after an unexpected complication Thursday, May 29, 2014, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born July 30, 1957 in Plattsburgh, NY he was the son of Shirley Stone Curtin of Boiling Springs, SC and the late James R. Curtin.
Greg retired after 25 years as a correction officer at Great Meadow in Comstock, NY. He had been Commander of The Sons of American Legion Liberty Post #515, member of Elks Lodge #2223 and VFW Post #7291 in Greenwich. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, hunting and water skiing.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandfather George "Gramps" Stone.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years Debra Garrow Curtin of Greenwich; 2 daughters, Jessica (Jason) Barnes of Salem and Amanda (Brad) Wilcox of Cocoa, FL ; 4 granddaughters, referred to as his A Team, Alyvia, Addyson, Addalynn and Avarie ; 2 brothers Michael Curtin of Malone, and Randy Curtin of SC; 1 sister, Doreen Curtin of Plattsburg, and 3 nephews.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 12:30PM Monday, June, 2, 2014 at St. Joseph's Church, 36 Bleeker St., Greenwich, with Rev. Martin Fisher officiating.
Friends may call from 2 - 5 on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Flynn Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Main St. Greenwich.
