Obituary of June C. Dixson

June Caroline LeBarron Dixson of Greenwich, died May 29, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany following a brief illness. June was the daughter of Ruth and Melvin Jay LeBarron Jr. and was the wife of the late Gilbert A. Dixson. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She volunteered at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge for 30 years. In later life she particularly enjoyed the antics and achievements of her great-grandchildren, Cheyanne June Woodward, Mason Gage Schade and Tyler Dixson Schade. In addition to her great-grandchildren she is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Pamela Dixson-Hanley and Ron Hanley of Gansevoort, NY, and Deborah Dixson Peterson and Eric Peterson of Bennington, VT; granddaughter, Jody June Schade and husband Matt Schade of North Bennington, VT ; grandson Christopher Woodward of Bennington, VT; sister, Yvonne "Bonnie" LeBarron and brother, Stanley LeBarron, both of Greenwich, NY, and a number of nieces and nephews. June was predeceased by her husband Gilbert, sister, Vivian, and brother, Clyde. A graveside service will be held at 11am Saturday, May 31, 2014 in the Greenwich Cemetery, Greenwich, NY with Rev. Keith Mann officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorials can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
